This has been a wonderful year. Nothing big has happened or anything. Although, that could be a good thing. We’ve just been working, enjoying life with Isla Rose, playing with our puppies and spending a little more time at home with each other. I thought i’d take just a minute and update you on life as of late.
All in all, it’s been a quiet year. I’ll be sad to see 2019 go but I’m excited for all the new things that the new year (and new decade) will bring. We will begin house shopping next year, planning the next steps for our family, expanding our business (both POP and Pearson Woodworks).
I’m genuinely happy with life at the moment. Isla is learning so much these days and really keeping us on our toes, but it’s been so much fun to watch her grow this last year. When I look at photos from last Christmas, she looks like such a baby compared to the talkative, funny, smart girl that she is today.
We are blessed. We’ve really made it our focus this last year to be thankful in all seasons and not take one second for granted. Isla had a scary seizure in April and to be honest, I’m still checking to see if she is breathing all night long. I was doing that before the seizure so maybe that is just being a Mom. Ha!
We hope to plan a big trip next Fall, possibly to the UK again. We really want to travel with Isla while she is young.
The weirdest thing that has happened as I reflect on the last few years of this decade is that while Evan and I don’t agree on everything, we grown in the same direction as far as who we are. I tried to say that in the least cheesy way possible, but you know what I mean. I don’t think I’ve ever been more sure of myself. I’m more purposeful in choosing my words, trying to make health a priority and living with JOY. We’ve had to work at finding time with each other and really be present in each other’s company.
This last year I started a workout routine and was really sticking with it and when I missed a few days I found it really hard to start back up. In 2020 I want to focus on health and make some lifestyle changes that hopefully Isla will also adopt.
We’re exactly where I pictured us when we got married. We are surrounded by friends and family, attend a wonderful Church, filled with loving people, and we both enjoy our jobs. Oh, and we made the most beautiful blue-eyed, strawberry blonde that you’ve ever seen.
What is something you’ve learned about yourself in the last year? What are you excited about in 2020?
My whole family has been sick this weekend. Isla had a tummy bug and I…
