Welcome to Payton on Purpose! I’m Payton. So glad you’re here! This little slice of the internet was created to serve as a design and creativity outlet for people who love home decor, travel, and family life. I love Jesus, listening/dancing to oldies while I clean house, and making things with my hands. I’ve been building furniture with my husband since 2012 and I’ve always enjoyed writing so I thought I’d try to combine the two.

I currently live in Oklahoma City with my wonderful husband, Evan, our daughter, Isla, and our two doggos, Teddy (Theodore Roosevelt) and Gertie (Gertrude).

I spend my days planning future vacations, day dreaming about a beach somewhere with unlimited crab legs, and one of those fruity drinks with an umbrella, oh and conducting clinical trials. If I had to pick one song to walk away from an explosion all slow-mo, like in the movies, it would most definitely be, “She’s a bad mama jama.” My favorite kind of cookie is peanut butter. My unique talents include, running into people I went to high school with, eating an entire sleeve of thin mints in one sitting, and looking not tired when I am in fact, very tired.

My weekends are spent chasing my 20 month old around the house and taking her on adventures around Oklahoma City. Her current interests are: chalk, eating, yelling, singing the same song over and over, and chasing our dogs.

I’ve been married to Evan for almost 7 years and we still don’t agree on what to set the thermostat on.
