Front porch decor for fall

can’t believe it’s already time for all things pumpkin! It’s still pretty hot outside here in OKC but hopefully a cool down will happen soon. I am getting excited to break out my scarves, sweaters and booties. More importantly, I ordered a bunch of new fall clothes for Isla and I can’t wait until its cool enough to put her in a cute little sweater. See what I bought her from H&M here. Thanks for stopping by to check out our Fall decor for your porch ideas! These easy to recreate ideas will have your porch looking cozy in no time!

Be sure and check out my Instagram for more Fall decor inspiration and to keep up with our family. I love this little community of readers and I love getting messages about someone building for the first time or liking the decor around our home.

My last autumn porch decor post did so well that I decided to go ahead and post what we’ve done this year to our porch. I went with a different color scheme and I love how it turned out. I love seeing how different everything is from last year and how my style has changed.

My door is still Wythe Blue. I haven’t gotten tired of it yet. It works so well in all seasons. I found a wreath I really loved online but it wasn’t going to be here in time for this post. I decided to head to target to see what I could find. As always, Johanna Gaines did not disappoint. This wreath looks beautiful with the blue door. It really warms up the space.

This doormat caught my eye. It’s rubber and I like that it is a darker color. It should hold up well. Then I found the blue striped one at target too and it needed to come home with me. It was the very last one at my local store and I am unable to find it online but there are several similar ones at target. I love this layered look for the doormats.

I wanted to try and decorate the porch this year without any orange just to see if I could do it. There are so many great ideas on pinterest and I used a lot of them as inspo for our porch. I stuck with navy, yellow and green, however, I did end up buying some really pretty light orange pumpkins.

Fall Porch Decor

I found these pumpkins at Trader Joe’s. They are flatter than regular pumpkins which meant they were prime for stacking!  I made sure to wash the pumpkins to get off the dirt clumps off and I finished up with a magic eraser to really brighten them up. This is optional of course. They’re only pumpkins and they are outside. I’m just sharing a few tips I’ve learned along the way.

My bench is still holding strong for being my very first build several years ago. It fits the bay window perfectly even though we built it way before moving in. I really like having the bench because it adds another surface to decorate. Anytime you’re decorating a larger area, it’s nice to have some varying height. My favorite time to decorate our home is the Fall because I love coming up with ideas for Fall decor for your porch,  and also it’s the easiest time because pumpkins instantly add so much character and texture.

I’ve really been practicing my hand lettering by watching some YouTube videos and put my skills to use with this chalkboard easel. Something about chalkboards always, make me think of AutumnMaybe it’s just me missing school starting in the Fall.

Lastly, I have a soft spot for mums. We used them at our wedding in October 2012 and ever since I’ve used them every Fall. I usually love the bright purple or red but this year I stuck with the warm golden ones. I got them at target and they were around $8 each. We’ve have had this galvanized cooler  for a few years and it stays here and holds various plants throughout the season.

I almost built some planter boxes for the mums but decided against it. Maybe next spring I’ll build some. I hope you enjoyed this project because I LOVE how it turned out and i’m so pumped to see all the Fall decor for your porch ideas that I know you’ll be sharing on Instagram!
