Christmas Books to Read to your Toddler

Isla Rose LOVES books. Not as much as she loves pushing the buttons on the remote control but we’re working on it. She loves to sit and pretend to read. It’s the cutest thing ever. She will come sit in our lap with a book before bed time and we read to her most nights. Her all time favorite is Goodnight Moon and my husband has it memorized and it’s pretty much falling apart. A tell tale sign of a well loved book.

I like to change out her books every now and again to give her some variety. Recently we’ve been getting into some Christmas books with her and I’m excited to say that she will get a few new ones for Christmas. Her little library in her room is pretty impressive already. It’s no surprise though because both of her Grandma’s are teachers and her Aunt is a librarian. She comes by her love of books honestly.

Here are the books that I’ll be reading Isla this month:

  • Christmas in the Manger– We really want Isla Rose to understand the true meaning of Christmas. The fun songs we sing, cookies we eat, and trees we decorate are fun, but it’s important to know where Christmas got its start. This book does just that!

  • Santa’s Workshop-  This is lift flap type of book. She loves to lift little flaps and always acts so surprised by what is underneath no matter how many time’s we’ve read them. I know this will be a hit.

  • Jolly Jingle Christmas- I know I will come to regret this. This may be one that has to stop working mysteriously after I take the batteries out. Books that make fun noises rank pretty high in our household. This looks pretty cute though and I know she’ll love it.

  • Biscuit’s Pet and Play Christmas: A touch and feel book-  We already have a few of the Biscuit books and she really seems to like them. She loves to bark and think’s it’s pretty funny to hear my husband or I bark with the books. Bonus- This is a textured book. It’s so neat to watch her touch different pages and if it’s soft she will say “ooohhhhh.” I can’t get enough of it.

  • Biscuit gives a gift-  Another wonderful Biscuit book. This book teaches how to give and it’s a great lesson to learn especially at Christmas time.

Let me know what your favorite toddler Christmas books are! There are so many good ones out there.

I’ve got so much fun Christmas content this month and I’m so excited to share it with you guys. I’ll be back tomorrow with another Blogmas post so be sure to check back!
