Christmas Tablescapes: Elegant and Effortless

I’m so excited to show you 3 different ideas for your dining table at Christmas time! I hope you enjoy these ideas as much as I enjoyed putting them together! These are all Christmas Tablescape looks you could recreate with things you probably already have at home!

All three looks have a book page table runner that I felt added some dimension to the table. It was so simple to make. I just used pages from an old book and scattered them down the center of the table. The three tablescapes all include fresh greenery that was found at Trader Joe’s. Make sure your greenery isn’t dried out. It’s important to never leave a candle burning, especially around dried out pine.

Let’s dive in!

Look #1 – Book Page Runner with Planter Box

The first look includes a wooden planter box. If you don’t have one you could always make one. There are tons of tutorials online and they are pretty inexpensive to make. Mine is really old and it is from a local farm. I layered the bottom of the planter box with the greenery and then placed my white candles on top. Luckily, I have white candles of all shapes and sizes. I love the variation and depth it gives to the entire table. Finally, I had some extra greenery that I just placed on the table. It looked so enchanting with the book pages. You could also put some battery operated twinkle lights on the table and take this look to the next level.

Look #2 – Glass Vases & Candles

For this second look, I used three different vases in two different sizes. You could use as many vases as you want and whatever size and this idea would still look amazing. I poured some epsom salt in the bottoms of my vases and then put my white candles on top. I then took a few pieces of small greenery and wrapped it around the base of the candle. The rest of the greenery was placed scattered around the table and then the extra candles were placed around the vases. Our dining room is the only room in our house with a big bay window and that is where our tree is because I really want to be able to see my tree when I pull up to the house. It also makes a lovely back drop for our dining table too.

Look #3 – Mini-Christmas Trees & Candles

The third and final look still uses the scattered greenery and candles, but you could also put them on candles holders. I bought three of these small Christmas trees from Target quite some time ago so I doubt they carry the exact same ones but add a little burlap around the base of any mini-tree and viola! You could even use those fun colored foil trees. I had some pine cones that were purchased from Trader Joe’s and I placed them all over the table. It’s important to stack the items to get the effect you want. The book pages, then the greenery and pine cones, and the candles and the trees. They are all varying heights and textures and that is what you want in a tablescape.

Hopefully these three tablescapes give you a little inspiration so you can make a beautiful tablescape of your own!
